Restarting the TSM Scheduler in Windows

It is recommended that TSM users stop and restart the TSM scheduler periodically, because the amount of memory (RAM) which the TSM scheduler uses can grow with time. If your machine is rebooted regularly then restarting the scheduler is unlikely to be necessary, because the service is restarted every time you reboot.

To find the TSM scheduler service, from the desktop click [Windows logo] > [Control Panel] > [System and Security] > [Administrative Tools] > [Services]. You will see a list in which you should then locate the TSM Client Scheduler. The default settings are that it is Started and Automatic.

To restart an existing scheduler service, first highlight the name; this would normally be the default 'TSM Client Scheduler'. You can then restart it by clicking on Restart from the phrase 'Restart the service', where it is listed to the left of the service name column.
