These instructions were compiled using Fedora 11 and NetworkManager Applet 0.7.1 under GNOME.
In the top menu, select the
NetworkManagericon on the right hand side which resembles two monitors, one behind the other. If you are not connected to any other networks there will be a small red cross present.
From the drop down menu that appears select
[eduroam]from the list of available networks.
In the dialogue box that appears headed
Wireless Network Authentication Required, provide the following information:
WPA & WPA2 Enterprise
Protected EAP (PEAP)
Anonymous identity: leave blank
CA certificate: leave as
Username/Password: Enter your Remote Access account username followed by
@ox.ac.ukand password (as set via https://register.it.ox.ac.uk/self/remote_access).
A dialogue will appear asking you to provide a CA certificate. Select
Choose CA Certificate.
A file selection dialogue will appear. Choose the file
Ctrl+Lto show the
Locationfield, enter the filename into the field and type
File Systemfrom the
Placeslist on the left and then navigating through the
tlsdirectories before selecting
Once connected, the
NetworkManagericon will change to show the signal strength for the Eduroam access point you are connected to.
