The following instructions apply to use of the eduroam wireless service on Ubuntu 13.10 distributions of GNU/Linux, but may also work on other versions. If you have general questions or need other assistance, contact email@example.com
In the top menu, click on the
networksicon on the right hand side which resembles a fan.
From the drop down menu that appears, select
[eduroam]from the list of available networks
In the dialogue box headed
Wi-Fi Network Authentication Requiredthat appears, check the settings match the figure below (if not, change them) and enter your Remote Access account details (not your SSO): your username (append @ox.ac.uk after it) e.g.
firstname.lastname@example.org your remote access account password.
Click on the
If the window labelled
No Certificate Authority certificate chosenpops up, click
- You may see a pop-up warning 'Network service discovery disabled'. This too can be ignored.
