Windows Phone and Nexus Exchange

IMPORTANT: We are currently in the process of moving the University’s centrally managed (Nexus) email and calendaring service to the cloud-based, Microsoft Office 365 service (Nexus365). If your account has been migrated you should now use the Nexus365 support pages where you will find help and advice on using the new service.

(These instructions are based on Microsoft Windows Phone version 8)

If you have a lot of data (email, contacts, etc) to synchronise then you are advised to do the initial synchronisation via a WiFi connection if possible; it will be faster and less likely to lose the connection during synchronisation.

Go to the Settings on your phone and select email+accounts

Select add an account

Email and Accounts, Add and account

Roll down to the bottom of the next screen and select advanced setup

Add an Account, Advanced Setup

Fill in your email address and password and click next

Email address and password

Select Exchange ActiveSync

On the next screen keep your email address and password the same BUT change your Username to be your Single Sign On ID, i.e. OUIT9999, and change the server to be and give the Account Name a friendly name that will help you to identify the account in the future.  Click sign in
