What is OneDrive for Business?
Can I use OneDrive for Business with my personal OneDrive account?
No, they are separate
What should I store in my OneDrive for Business? Can I use OneDrive for Business for storing research data? 
There are already many solutions available that provide you with places to store and share your data, e.g.on-premise SharePoint,shared drives, Oxfile. One Drive for Business will be an additional resource. We are currently working on some guidance to highlight the appropriate uses for using these storage solutions, in the mean time your unit IT Support Staff will have local guidance.
Should I use OneDrive for Business or other cloud services e.g. DropBox?

Can I use OneDrive for Business to share information inside and outside the University?
You can use it for sharing documents within and outside the University but please consult local guidance about use of OneDrive for Business.
Does a shared mailbox get its own OneDrive for Business environment?
No. A shared mailbox does not have any OneDrive allocation. A shared mailbox in this context is a mailbox that does not belong to a single person
OneDrive has a recycle bin. Can the deletion rules be published? 
Deletion rules for OneDrive will be the same as for an Email account.  A deleted item will be held in the Deleted Items folder for 90 days, this is then followed by 30 days in Recoverable Items folder.
What happens to an individual's OneDrive for Business account when (s)he leaves the University (or College)? 
The account expires as soon as the user leaves the University, anyone who has been given shared access to files will be able to access them for a further 2 months. 
If a user has shared a document in OneDrive for Business and then leaves, how long is the share valid for? 
The share is valid for 2 months after the user leaves until their account has been officially deleted.
Who administers OneDrive for Business?
OneDrive for Business will be administered by IT Services
My OneDrive Time Zone seems to be incorrect can I change this and how do I correct it?
Yes, you can change the time zone. This can be done by selecting the gear icon in the upper right-hand corner in OneDrive for Business and selecting 'Site Settings'. Under the heading of Site Administration select 'Regional Settings'. Time Zone settings are located on the top of the page. Use the drop-down menu to change the time zone to the one you desire. Once changed click on the Ok button located on the bottom right of the page. Your time zone settings will now reflect the one you have specifically selected. If needed use the other drop-down menu options to amend your Region as well Sort order, Calendar type and Time Format
There could be an issue moving data into a University supported OneDrive for Business. For example, what happens if data is lost? How is this different from the current situation where some people are using 'unauthorised' storage solutions?
Data in Nexus365's OneDrive is recoverable by Microsoft in the event of a major disaster, such as if one of their datacentres was destroyed. However your OneDrive files are not backed-up to tape in the way that you may be used to. Documents you save to OneDrive keep a history of editing activity meaning that you can easily return to a previous version of a file. There are some protections against accidental file deletions but if you are concerned that you will always need the ability to fully recover files from backup tapes, particularly after a long period of time has elapsed, OneDrive will not be a good fit for your needs. The key difference between unauthorised cloud storage solutions and Nexus365's OneDrive is that Nexus365 has enterprise-level support, availability, troubleshooting, and network capacity. We can also escalate issues with a priority that may be lacking on a free or single-user unauthorised storage solution.
Is there a way to use OneDrive for Business on Linux?
Yes there is, via the web browser
Can OneDrive for Business be switched off for our users?
No, this cannot be done.
Will there be guidance not to use OneDrive for Business for some research grants?

How does the introduction of OneDrive for Business with Nexus365 affect existing OneDrive users?
Current OneDrive users who do not wish to move any data and are happy to use two separate OneDrive accounts will be prompted when logging in and asked which one they would like to utilise, 'Business' or 'Personal' they will have to select the one they want to us at that time. Users that would like to move data from their personal OneDrive to their OneDrive for Business account must be aware personal OneDrive accounts are not supported by ITSS. See Microsoft guidance.
Does a project mailbox come with OneDrive for Business?
No, just email and a calendar.
How do I change the displayed time zone in OneDrive for Business?
The time zone setting is not set to UTC by default. This can only be changed by users by selecting the gear icon in the upper right-hand corner in OneDrive for Business and selecting ‘Site Settings’. Can I upload folders into OneDrive for Business using Internet Explorer 11?

Do alumni and retirees have access to OneDrive for Business at the University?
No.  Retired staff  are provisioned with a Microsoft licence, giving them a Nexus365 mailbox (email and calendar) only.
Why can't I attach a file directly from OneDrive for Business when using Outlook?
There are different experiences with different versions of Outlook.  Outlook 2016 can attach a file directly from OneDrive for Business .  With older versions of Outlook you will have to save the file locally before attaching it.
