Configure Android to access the IT Services VPN service

REQUIREMENTS

In order to be able to connect to the IT Services VPN service:

  • You must have first registered a Remote Access account though your Self Registration page.
  • Your device must be connected to the internet.
  • Your device must be running Android 4.0 or above.

SETTING UP THE CISCO ANYCONNECT VPN CLIENT

  1. Install the Cicso AnyConnect app from the Google Play store.
  2. Open the AnyConnect, then select ConnectionAdd new VPN Connection...
  3. Provide:
    • Description: IT Services
    • Server address: vpn.ox.ac.uk
  4. Confirm the settings then select the back arrow.
  5. Toggle the AnyConnect VPN on.
  6. You will be prompted for your Remote Access account details:
    • Username: Your SSO username (usually of the format abcd1234)
    • Password: Your Remote Access account password
