IMPORTANT: This application is being phased out, and will no longer be available from 28 June 2022
Applies to OpenScape desktop client on Windows 10.
Symptoms
OpenScape desktop client (softphone) starts but cannot be used to make or receive calls, and shows the error "SIP Service Provider not connected".
Solution
This error will be displayed if the OpenScape desktop client cannot find a suitable audio configuration. This may occur if you have added, changed or unplugged devices such as speakers, webcams, and headsets since OpenScape was last used.
- Right click on the OpenScape icon in the system tray and select OpenScape Options
- In the Settings window under Audio Schemes, review the list of audio schemes
- If you cannot find a scheme with a green header ending with the text "(is used)" then you will need to ensure that you have suitable audio devices connected to your PC and add or change an audio scheme to use them
- After configuring an audio scheme: right click on the OpenScape icon in the system tray and select Exit OpenScape, and then restart OpenScape to ensure that your new settings take effect
