Restarting the TSM scheduler

Windows

To restart the scheduler on Windows systems:

  1. Select the Start menu, type Services, then select the Services app
  2. Right click on the TSM Client Scheduler service
  3. Select Restart
macOS

To restart the scheduler on macOS systems:

  1. Run Applications Tivoli Storage Manager > TSM Tools for Administrators
  2. Select Stop the Scheduler
  3. You will be asked for your local administrator password
  4. Select Start the Scheduler
  5. You should then see a confirmatory message reporting that the TSM scheduler has started
Linux

To restart the scheduler for Linux systems:

Run the following from the command line as root:

/opt/tivoli/tsm/client/ba/bin/HFSscheduler off
/opt/tivoli/tsm/client/ba/bin/HFSscheduler on
Solaris

Stoping the scheduler for Solaris systems will depend on the version of the TSM client used:

Version 6

Restart the scheduler daemon with:

svcadm disable dsmsched
svcadm enable dsmsched

Earlier versions

Stop the scheduler daemon with:

svcadm disable dsmcad
svcadm enable dsmcad
