How to join / update / leave the ITSS register

Join the ITSS register

  1. Complete the ITSS registration form to submit your request. We will review the details you provide and contact a trusted colleague to validate your request, and then confirm back to you
  2. ITSS entitlements will normally be enabled overnight following registration

Leave the ITSS register

To request removal where you are no longer ITSS for a unit:

  1. Contact the service desk to let us know that you are no longer ITSS at all, or to confirm the units that you no longer work in

To request removal of ITSS affiliation for someone else in your unit:

  1. Any member of unit ITSS, the Head of Department / House or an officer acting with their authority can submit a request to remove a person from the ITSS register via IT self-service

Add / remove ITSS01 role

Any member of unit ITSS, the Head of Department / House or an officer acting with their authority can request addition or removal of the ITSS01 role for a member of staff in their unit. Do this by submitting details as a help request to our service desk.

Notes about the ITSS01 role:

  • The ITSS01 role is not intended to confer any special privileges not included in the ITSS role
  • At the time of writing, the exception is that the ITSS01 role is required to manage visitor network administrators
  • A unit can have zero, one or multiple staff with the ITSS01 role

Further information

As registered ITSS you will:

  • receive messages sent to the itss-announce maillist
  • be automatically subscribed (but can unsubscribe from) the itss-discuss maillist
  • have access to the ITSS wiki and community resources
  • have access to ITSS-only software downloads
  • have access to ITSS tools for the unit(s) you support

Please note that only current staff with a valid University Card can be assigned ITSS or ITSS01 roles.
