How to clear your web browser

Persistent web page issues may be resolved by clearing your web browser's cache and cookies.  If the issue continues, or you have other browser issues, you could also try resetting your browser to its default settings.

 

 

Windows

Clear cache and cookies

  1. Open Chrome
  2. Open the settings using any of the following methods:
    • Press Ctrl+Shift+Del on your keyboard.
    • Type chrome://settings/clearBrowserData into the address field.
    • Select  Settings > Privacy and security > Clear browsing data
  3. Update Time range to All time
  4. Ensure Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files are selected.
  5. Select Clear data

 

Reset the browser to its default settings

  1. Open Chrome
  2. Open the settings using any of the following methods:
    • Type chrome://settings/reset into the address field.
    • Select  Settings > Reset and cleanup
  3. Select Restore settings to their original defaults > Reset settings

Clear cache and cookies 

  1. Open Edge
  2. Open the settings using any of the following methods:
    • Press Ctrl+Shift+Del on your keyboard.
    • Type edge://settings/clearBrowserData into the address field.
    • Select  Settings  Privacy, search, and services > Clear browsing data > Choose what to clear
  3. Update Time range to All time
  4. Ensure Cookies and Cache are selected.
  5. Select Clear now

 

Reset the browser to its default settings

  1. Open Edge
  2. Open the settings using any of the following methods:
    • Type edge://settings/reset into the address field.
    • Select  Settings  > Reset settings > Restore settings to their default values
  3. Select Reset

Clear cache and cookies 

  1. Open Firefox
  2. Open the settings using any of the following methods:
    • Press Ctrl+Shift+Del on your keyboard.
    • Select  History > Clear recent history...
  3. Update Time range to clear to Everything
  4. Ensure Cookies and Cache are selected.
  5. Select OK

 

Reset the browser to its default settings

  1. Open Firefox
  2. Open the settings using any of the following methods:
    • Type about:support into the address field.
    • Select  Help > More Troubleshooting Information
  3. Select Refresh Firefox... > Refresh Firefox
macOS

  1. Open Safari
  2. From the menu bar select Safari > Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data...
  3. Select Remove All > Remove now
  4. From the menu bar select Safari > Preferences > Advanced
  5. Ensure Show Develop menu in menu bar is selected.
  6. From the menu bar select Develop > Empty Caches
iOS

  3. Ensure Cookies and Cache are selected.
  4. Select Clear Private Data > OK

  1. Open the Settings  app.
  2. Select Apps > Chrome > Storage > Manage space > Clear all data > OK

  3. Ensure Cookies and Cache are selected.
  4. Select Delete Browsing data > Delete

  1. Open the Settings  app.
  2. Select Apps > Opera > Storage > Manage space > Clear all data > OK

Clear cache and cookies 

  1. Open Samsung Internet
  2. Select  > Settings  > Personal browsing data > Delete browsing data
  3. Ensure Browsing historyCookies and site data and Cached images are selected.
  4. Select Delete data > Delete

Reset the browser to its default settings

The process may differ slightly for your version of Android.  Please note that bookmarks are removed.

  1. Open the Settings  app.
  2. Select Apps > Samsung Internet > Storage > Manage space > Clear all data > OK
