How to manually configure access to CONNECT network drives

Most staff have access to one or more "mapped drives" on their managed staff PC. These drives will show up immediately when using a managed staff desktop PC onsite, and should show up within a few minutes of activating Oxford VPN when working remotely. If you are using a self-managed device, or the drives do not appear when you connect to Oxford VPN, then you can configure access manually.

Notice: Mapped drives in the CONNECT Remote Desktop Service

If your normal mapped drives are not available in the CONNECT Remote Desktop service then please contact the Service Desk.

Windows
  1. Connect to Oxford VPN (not required if you are connected to a UAS or GLAM wired network)
  2. Select Start  , type explorer, and select File Explorer
  3. Right click on This PC and select "Map network drive..."
  4. For each drive that you want to map, select Drive and type the Folder exactly as shown in the table below
  5. Select "Reconnect at sign-in" and "Connect using different credentials", then select Finish. Enter your CONNECT login details when prompted, with your username in the form CONNECT\abcd1234

We strongly recommend that you use the drive letters shown in the table below when connecting to any of the folders listed. This provides consistency with other users, which improves reliability and performance when opening documents. Other standard drive mappings are described in How to access files and folders on managed staff desktops.
