The University VPN is optimised to provide good security with high performance and a low impact on University resources.
An option is available that increases the protection around access to Microsoft 365 tools such as University email, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive. This routes network traffic associated with those apps via the University so may impact performance and will increase load on University networks.
When to use VPN tunnel-all mode
VPN tunnel-all mode is recommended when connecting from some overseas and higher risk locations. Your IT team may also recommend it for certain individuals, devices, data or work scenarios.
Connect to the VPN in tunnel-all mode
- If not set up already, install the University VPN
- Open the Cisco Secure Client
- Disconnect from the VPN if it is currently active
- Update the address from vpn.ox.ac.uk to vpn.ox.ac.uk/tunnel-all
- Select Connect
You will need to do this each time you want to connect in tunnel-all mode.
