Office 365 availability
We are providing early access to Office 365 on the managed staff PC and managed mac exclusively for staff who are enrolled in the Copilot for Microsoft 365 trial. Eligible staff will be contacted directly by email, and can upgrade to Office 365 by selecting it from the Oxford Applications Installer.
Office 365 has not yet been tested for compatibility with other common applications, and may cause applications that integrate with MS Office to fail. In this event staff should contact our service desk to request a rollback to our mainstream Office version. We will periodically update this page with information about applications that are known to work / have problems.
During Michaelmas Term 2024 we will develop our Office 365 deployment further, with the aim of making this available for general release in early 2025.
Office 365 overview
Office 365 provides the latest versions of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. These look and feel similar to Office online, and are frequently updated with new features. Please note that features are also sometimes removed.
Office 365 include integration with Copilot for Microsoft 365, and should offer the smoothest experience when using it with Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive.
Known issues
We do not currently have test results for compatibility with other University applications. This page will be updated as feedback is collected.
