Stopping the HFS Storage Protect backup scheduler

How to disable the Storage Protect scheduler on your machine

Windows

To stop the scheduler on Windows systems:

  1. Select the Windows Start menu > Control Panel > System and Security > Administrative Tools > Services
  2. Double click on the "TSM Client Scheduler" service
  3. In the resulting window change the "Startup type" to "Disabled", then click "Stop"
  4. Double click on the "TSM Client Acceptor" service
  5. In the resulting window change the "Startup type" to "Disabled", then click "Stop"
  6. You can check that you have successfully stopped the scheduler service
macOS

To stop the scheduler on macOS systems:

  1. Run Applications > IBM Storage Protect > IBM Storage Protect Tools for Administrators
  2. Select Stop the Client Acceptor Daemon
  3. You will be asked for your local administrator password
  4. You can check that you have successfully stopped the scheduler service
Linux

To stop the scheduler and configure the Linux system not to start it at boot time.

  1. As root, run the following from the command line:

    /opt/tivoli/tsm/client/ba/bin/HFSscheduler off

  2. You can check that you have successfully stopped the scheduler service
