Remote Activation Call Forwarding (RACF) is a feature that allows call forwarding to be set up on an extension from any phone, including those outside the University.
The feature must be enabled on the extension by the chorus team prior to use.
Please use the IT self service to report a telephony problem, providing the subject 'Request RACF', and the extension number to apply to.
To activate the service
Dial 01865619200 or 19200 if you're dialing internally.
You will be prompted for your home phone number, including area code. Do NOT enter your home phone number, it won't work. Instead, enter the University extension you'd like to set the call forwarding up on, in the format 441865 xxxxxx.
After a few seconds, you'll be prompted for your PIN. Enter the PIN that the Chorus team provided when they enabled the service.
After a few more seconds, you'll be prompted to enter the service access code. To enable a call forwarding, enter *40.
You will be prompted to enter the number to which you would like to forward calls, followed by #. Dial 9 for an outside line, followed by the number you'd like to forward your calls to. This number must be dialable by the extension you're forwarding. If you try to set up a forwarding to an international or mobile line on an extension which has only local dialing rights, callers will hear an announcement that the call cannot be completed.
When you have entered a forwarding destination, you will hear an announcement to say that 'The feature is now activated.'
