How to connect to the Managed Desktop SSO Remote Desktop Service

Setting up the Desktop Version

1. Connect to the University VPN
2. In a web browser, https://remotedesktop.it.ox.ac.uk/
3. Double click on the Remote Desktop icon and save the .rdp file to your desktop. You can also rename this file to make it easier to find.

Connecting to the SSO Remote Desktop

1. Connect to the University VPN
2. Double click on the Remote Desktop Connection file
3. Enter your SSO username (e.g. abcd1234@ox.ac.uk) and password
4. Authenticate the connection using your Microsoft Authenticator App

When finished please sign out, go to Start, click on your name, and click “Sign Out”.

Connecting to the Web Version

1. Connect to the University VPN
2. In a web browser, https://remotedesktop.it.ox.ac.uk/
3. Double click on the Web Client text (top right of the page)
4. Provide your SSO (e.g. abcd1234@ox.ac.uk) username and password
5. Click on the Remote Desktop icon
6. Click “Allow” to access the local resources on your computer
7. Authenticate the connection using your Microsoft Authenticator App

When finished please sign out, got to Start, click on your name, and click “Sign Out”.
