Remote Desktop can't connect to the remote computer
This error is usually caused by having an incompatible authenticator set in Microsoft MySignins
- Go https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info and
- Make sure you have the Microsoft Authenticator setup. If you need assistance with setting this up see this help page https://help.it.ox.ac.uk/how-to-use-mfa#collapse3738196
- Once you have Microsoft Authenticator setup, make sure it is default authenticator.
- You can do this by clicking the word change in the “You’re using the most advisable sign-in method where it applies” section
- This will bring up a window with a drop-down box. Make sure you select App based authentication – notification and press confirm.
After making this change you should be able to launch Remote Desktop or your Remote Application
